Audio Technical Services was founded in the spring of 1986 by Bernie Beard as an A/V rental shop serving Springfield and the Central Illinois region. The business rapidly grew to become the "contractor of choice" for the Prairie Capital Convention Center and the Illinois State Fairgrounds to list a few.
Today, you'll find us serving our clients in almost every venue in the area. ATS has kept up with changing technologies as we strive to provide our clients with state-of-the-art equipment, experienced operators and reliable service.
Through the years, we've become a noteworthy installation contractor representing quality audio and video manufacturers, and providing custom designed systems for corporate, institutional, government and houses of worship.
Sadly, Bernie passed away and we truly miss his leadership, creativity and friendship every day. Since Bernie's passing, long time employee & business partner Tom Merz and Lester Harvill have continued the tradition with professional services to the production and performance needs of our clients and look forward to the opportunity to serve you. New News: Audio technical services teams up with Tyler truss ! Next week the first shipment of Tyler Gt pre rigged truss will be showing up at the shop ! This is a major thing for us going into the festival season . When it comes to rigging big stages it becomes very time consuming and often we find ourselves in a race against the clock . With Tyler's new GT truss we will be able to get a full lighting rig up and running in a very short amount of time . Tyler's Gt systems is pre loaded and pre wired so when we hit the deck they get rolled out put into position locked together and flown ! No more painstaking wiring or hanging 120lb lights by hand each time we get on the stage . This allows us to put a full size professional lighting rig on the stage with no hassle !
